January 10th, 2010

We received Kinnick and Carver's new swings. They got a platform swing and a net swing. Since it is so difficult for one person to take them outside, we are attempting to set the swing set frame up in the house. Yes, in the house. According to the website, the frame was supposed to be 91 inches tall. Well, most basements have a ceiling height of at least 8 feet high, right? Well, apparently 8 feet is "approximate". This is when you kick yourself for not getting the 10 ft ceilings. So, my poor husband had to cut 3 inches off each of the legs - galvanized steel legs. It's been quite the project. It also requires a space that is about 10 ft by 10 ft. Thank God we have a decent sized basement. I spent yesterday afternoon trying to move things around to make room. Hopefully we'll have everything set up later tonight. If so, I'll post pictures later this week.

Aww....dont you just love when you have to put our men to work! Poor guy. I can't wait to see pictures though! I bet the kids will LOVE them. I know Gannon at first had sensory issues while swinging, but once he realized how fun it was, he became a huge fan!

We did something similar at our old house. We put up a swingset in our basement at our old house. It was too cold in the winter and I needed that as a therapy tool, so the basement became a zoo! haha oh well the kids were happy! We also had a huge climber thing in the basement also...it was insane but Gannon needed it for gross motor therapy...so we were like whatever...lets do it! haha
